It is legally mandatory that all domestic wastewater containing vegetable and animal oils is passed through an oil trap before being discharged to the sewerage system (“Regulation on Control of Vegetable Waste Oils” dated 30/03/2010 numbered 27537). For this reason in workplaces that have a kitchen (restaurants, canteens, hotels, hospitals, industrial kitchens etc.) domestic wastewater has to be passed through an oil separator and oils and fats have to be removed.
25 percent of domestic wastewater pollution is a consequence of vegetable and animal oils being discharged to the sewerage system. 1 litre waste oil can pollute 1 million cubic meter of potable water. Oils discharged pollute the nature, cause blockages in the sewerage system, place extra burden on wastewater treatment plants and increase operation costs.
HUGE Oil Separator Units, working on the principle of density difference between water and oil, are designed for domestic wastewtaer systems according to TS EN 1825 standard anda re manufactured using HDPE material. When water containing oils enters the separator wastewater velocity drops passing through the partitions, as a result of the density difference oil and grease in the wastewawer is collected on top of the eparator and treated water is discharged to the sewerage system thorugh the oil separator outlet.
